How to use ?

You will need a piece of scrap-wood which is same width as opening on the fretboard radius jig, place your fretboard blank on that piece of scrap-wood using strong double sided tape to fix, align centre-line of your fretboard blank with centre-line on fretboard radius jig and move the jig from side to side or along the fretboard. I would suggest testing everything on a scrap piece of wood before attempting on a real fretboard.

You will need a piece of scrap-wood which is same width as opening on the fretboard radius jig (144mm).

Please examine the photos. I had used x2 pieces of 18mm thick plywood which I screwed together and pass with roundover bit the long edges, then I had placed those 2 pieces of plywood on bigger flat board. This will give you 36mm height which is designed to be used with opening on the jig and can accept fretboards 6-8mm.

Place your fretboard blank on, using the strong double-sided tape to fix, align centreline of your fretboard blank with centreline on the fretboard radius jig and move the jig from side to side or along the fretboard. (moving the jig along the fretboard gives more consistency and better result).

Please note that the radiused sides will come unassembled (as seen in photos) and you will have to put them together. This is simple task as "the legs" are slotted and you will have to place radiused sides in with some glue. Please make sure these are flat in the slots as this is important for the jig to work correctly.

Each radius will come with a set of "legs" which will enable you to set each radius as a permanent setup.

Important!

The base of the jig is not secured on the arched piece of the jig and it's resting on bearings only. Keep this in mind when using the jig as serious injury may occur if not used with caution. Hold the base from the top and keep fingers away from under the base.
