LESLIE FORD DESTINATION MYSTERIES (4): HONOLULU STORY  - RENO RENDEZVOUS  - THE BAHAMAS MURDER CASE - DATE WITH DEATH (ANNAPOLIS/CHESAPEAKE).

A MIXED BAG OF ROUGH AND TUMBLE FIRST EDITIONS - FABULOUS READING!

Leslie Ford was one of the first mystery writers to focus on "destination" and his books are fun for the way they trot the reader to cool locales in the US and around the globe.

No. 1 is Honolulu Story:

Book is 1946 First "A" Printing of Leslie Ford's Honolulu Story.  The hardcover book with its beige & navy cloth-covered boards is generally in very good clean condition.  Pages are appropriately age-toned.  The biggest flaw is that the DJ was originally affixed to the endpapers (I still can't believe folks used to do this ... I see some folks still do it with masking tape!) and when someone removed it, the residue was left.  It is priced accordingly.   It is a sought-after title and makes for a great read.

No. 2 is Reno Rendezvous

Book is the 1939 1st edition of Leslie Ford's Reno Rendezvous.  Publ by Farrar & Rhinehart.  Green cloth-covered boards show lots of overall wear.  A former library book that shows more "writing" of dates than pocket glue.  Book actually in poor condition. A reader copy of a sought after title.  Take it to the pool with a cocktail ... it'll make for a marvelous afternoon.

No. 3 is The Bahamas Murder Case:

Book is Scribners' 1952 1st trade edition of Leslie Ford's The Bahamas Murder Case.  A scarce hardcover volume ... in any condition ... even without its DJ.  Book in overall very good condition.  Mauve-cloth covered boards with black print/decor is clean. Spine slightly faded.  Bumping at spine tips.  Slight age soiling to edges.  Interior clean.  This sought after title is set in Nassau, Bahamas.

No. 4 is Date with Death:

Book is Scribners' 1949 1st trade printing of Leslie Ford's Date with Death.  Hardcover with its tan & red cloth covered boards in overall good condition.   Bumping at spine tips.  There is a small rip at top of spine tip.  Age soiling to edges.  Interior generally clean ... there is age-yellowing/soiling to endpapers.  This tale is set in the Chesapeake region and starts out in Annapolis.

Give these guys a new home ... your mystery-loving self will not be disappointed!

Will ship media mail at $5.50 ... over 3 lbs. of reading!

Selling on eBay as early as 1997.  "The Mermaid" is also still a bonded auctioneer and real estate broker who spent the past "many" decades' specializing in books, ephemera, estates, and real estate.  Just shy of two million books sold to date.  Books and paper aside, if it is "Stuff", she has sold it!  She has now returned to eBay.  Health issues have brought us back.  We are even selling our own collections!  And ... we are picky.  If we wouldn't add it to our own collections, we won't sell it.  Hope you find something that you want, need, and, most important of all, will enjoy!  We look forward to transacting with you and making new eBay friends and customers.  Thanking you for your patronage in advance ... !

As to our "standard operating procedures":  Our normal shipping & handling time is three (3) days.  We ship weekdays with the exception of US federal holidays.  We will ship with either free shipping or calculated shipping ... it depends on the given scenario.  Often, calculated shipping will include insurance - again, depending on the item.  Payment is expected at time of purchase or close of auction, whichever is applicable.  This also applies to "best offer accepted" transactions.  Non-paying purchasers or bidders will be blocked from future transactions.  The same goes for winning bidders seeking to have sales cancelled.  That said, prior to the end of any auctions, bids can be cancelled through the HELP section of eBay.  If respective bidders are found to be cancelling bids in an excessive manner, however, they will be blocked from future transactions.  Shill bidding is not tolerated and will be reported.

"The Mermaid" is happy to ship globally.** (See below.)  For such transactions, "calculated" shipping fees apply and    Insurance will be required if not already included in applicable postal fee.
**Unfortunately, there are a few destinations to which we cannot and will not ship.  That circumstance involves a fluid dynamic the specifics of which may not be clear until point of sale.  If such is the case, we will allow the transaction to be cancelled at our discretion and without any negative reporting made to eBay.

WE ARE GLAD TO BE BACK!
