Has 2 compartments when you open up the box for your jewelry or your keepsake you wish to store and then there's another compartment thats covered up and that's where the music box is at. Box bottom- there's the wind up key to get music box to play. This is older and has been used and loved and sat on dressers and shelves. Has some wear and tear as in line and small scratches and scuffs. Nothing too horrible. There is one small bump/weird imperfection- see pic 3 and 9. Lid closes tightly. Beautiful box with even better details carved on the lid part of this wooden jewelry box.
