The VK 45.01, also known as the Panzerkampfwagen VI 'Tiger (P)' was a prototype heavy tank conceived by Porsche in Germany in 1941. It did not go beyond the prototype stage as Henschel's model, the Tiger I, prevailed. Most of the prototypes produced to date by Porsche gave way to the heavy tank destroyer Ferdinand and later to the Elefant. Its chassis and various components of the Elefant were used in the further development of the prototype heavy tank designated VK 45.02 (P).
