• The European Committee For Standardization (CEN) in March 2014 approved a new European Standard for rubber and plastic hoses and tubing for use with propane and butane and their mixture in the vapour phase (LP Gas).
EN 16436-1:2014 is specifically for the delivery of LP Gas from a pressurized gas container to a regulator or an appliance (eg. heater) or for connection between a regulator to an appliance or pipework.
• This new standard should by November 2014 replace conflicting National standards in all EU and EFTA member countries.
• This means for example that existing Standards for this application such as DIN (Germany),
BS (United Kingdom) and NFT (France) will be withdrawn.
