*A fine example of English pottery by a very prestigious firm. John Ridgway was appointed potter to Queen Victoria and earned high commendations at the 1851 Exhibition. The exhibition catalogue states 'The Establishment of Mr. Ridgway is one of the largest and among the best conducted of the many factories of Staffordshire'.
