FABULOUS ANTIQUE INDIAN SHUTTER RAJASTHAN

19th Century Indian window shutter, carved wood with expansive & detailed metalwork.

I used this in a room which had an existing hatch, which I expanded - I fitted a wooden frame in the wall, which I stained to match the shutter, it looked amazing, and was practical & decorative from both sides. I still love it but it doesn’t work in my current place & I’m torn between storing & selling…maybe someone else will love it..

As this is an antique & would have been used for its purpose in its previous incarnations, it will show signs of having had a life..some wear & tear & missing metal parts are apparent, in a good way 😊

I’m attaching photos of how it looked fitted in the wall from both sides, the group photo shows the shutter before the built in frame was stained & after staining.

NOTE: The built in frame used to accommodate the shutter is not for sale…I left that in the wall of the property ☺️
