This listing is for a 1927 Tickletoes Doll from Ideal (in 1927 this head mold was called Baby Smiles if she has bent stuffed cloth legs), She (or he) has a stuffed kapok cloth body, tilting turning head, flirty sleep winking eyes, open mouth with painted teeth, cheek dimples.  The eyes are sooooo creepy.  No matter which way you turn the doll, the eyes are looking at you.  Unless she is laying down.  They eyes are painted tin, and beautiful.  The Tickletoes Dolls were made in the 1920s and 1930s.

The doll is marked -  Ideal in a diamond with USA on the four outside corners

She is wearing a lovely organdy dress (which I think is original) with an organdy slip.  She has long white socks over her cloth legs, and is wearing little faux leather booties.  Her arms are made from rubber, and have suffered the most - some of her little fingers are gone, and the finish on the arms is quite cracked.

She no longer cries, although I can feel a crier in her chest from her back.  Her head is made from composition, and is in nice condition - a few small cracks are beginning, but nothing terrible.

She has great patina - the aged look things get over time.
