Vintage SUSAN BENNIS WARREN EDWARDS snakeskin red burgundy clutch.

This vintage clutch is in excellent used condition.

It is about the size of a standard shoebox:

Length: 12.6" / 32 cm

Width: 6.75" /17 cm

Thickness: 1.6" / 4 cm

Description:

This is a structured, foldover EUC clutch designed with genuine snakeskin and a magnetic snap closure. The interior zipper pocket includes a fringe accent as seen in the photo. Accordion bottom. 

The interior is lined in grey leather and has two separate slip pockets. Two snaps allow a strap to attach. The strap shows mild stiffness due to age. 

Color is a red / rich burgundy / maroon / reddish brown / chestnut. 

Slight, light scratches can be seen on the interior of the bag from use. Four small nicks can be found on the exterior of the bag but are barely visible due to the grain of the snakeskin. Bottom left and right corners of the bag show some very minor wear. Please see photos for all signs of use. 

About The Designer: 

Susan Bennis and Warren Edwards were high-fashion shoe and bag makers in the 1980s. Their work is featured in the collections of the Met Costume Institute, including a bag that appears to match this clutch. Learn more here:
