Lovely Vintage Black Lacquered Chinoiserie Banjo Shaped Barometer.

This lovely vintage barometer has a wonderful “banjo” shaped case with square base. The top of the case then has a brass finial between two sloping panels. The whole case is then painted with a black lacquer with gold edging as well as wonderful chinoiserie painted scenes featuring people, flowers and birds.

The case then has a thermometer with a silvered back marked out in both Celsius and Fahrenheit. The dial is then silvered with each weather marking clearly shown with both the marker hand and the adjustable hand being golden. The dial is then covered by a round, bevelled glass set into a brass bezel.

It measures approximately:

- 36.5” / 93cm Tall.

- 9” / 23cm Wide.
