The high pressure fuel pumps in
V12 N73 Engines fail which cause the car to stall and cut off while
driving. If you turn the car off and start it back on it may start back
up and run again, but it will continue to stall and cut off. Some
mornings you might have long cranks. This is one of the most common
problems in BMW 760Li, 760i, Rolls-Royce Phantom with V12 N73 engines.
The cause is a failed High Pressure Fuel Pump Diaphragm. The dealer
might tell you that you need to buy high pressure pumps because the fuel HPFP
pumps need to be replaced at around $3000 per bank/side. These are
replacement HPFP High Pressure Fuel Pump Diaphragms. The OEM Diaphragm
looks like one piece but it is two diaphragms sandwiched together in one
pump. Just like the OEM Diaphragms these must be installed in pairs.
Before attempting this repair you need to be sure that your HPFP
Diaphragm is the issue and that you don't have any other parts in your
fuel system that could be causing similar problems. Please note! You are
purchasing a new DIY Replacement Diaphragm, We Are
Not Responsible For The Installation. You need to diagnose and make sure
what is wrong with the pump before you install the Diaphragms. Make sure
to Torque the pump Bolts with torque wrench and manufacturer's Torque
Specifications to
avoid Fuel Pressure issue and damage the diaphragms. What is included? 1
Bank Replacement HPFP Diaphragm (2 Diaphragms per bank). This is not
handmade, this is made using precision machine to match the HPFP
diaphragms. Meets and exceeds the OEM diaphragms durability.
