Today we have for sale the complete kit to convert your Sega Saturn console into a region free console with other benefits to chose from such as Fram module and 50/60hz upgrade, these are the same kits that we use on our units, please read below on the functionality and compatibility as not all the kits will be compatible with your unit, so chose the correct one for the unit, please note that these kits require soldering onto the unit itself and or removing the old parts, we have strayed every single chip that leaves us for compatibility so we don’t take any responsibility if you fail to correctly install the mod and or break your system.
If you have an NTSC system then you will not require the 50/60hz module as these system are not able to push the correct 50hz mode, so don’t purchase the kit with this module as it won’t be compatible and you won’t require one.
The bios is not compatible with earlier VA0 boards as these use different type of bios chips so again don’t purchase the region free bios if you own an VA0 or VA0.5
BIOS:
This is the region free bios that will allow your console once successfully installed to play any region games directly by just insert and play, this doesn’t in any way allow you to play CD-R type games and it’s purely for region free facility of all original games.
50/60hz module:
The 50/60 module will allow the console to switch between 50/60hz video frame rate via the reset button, this upgrade is only compatible with PAL units so if you have an NTSC console then don’t purchase this part as it won’t be compatible.
F-Ram:
This will replace the current SRAM on your system to a more non volatile memory, this memory is internal games saves of the Saturn, with this ram once replaced correctly it won’t any longer rely on the consoles button cell battery to retain your saves, so if you need to replace it the saves will be permanently stored onto the fram module.
