Campanula
pyramidalis is a giant among the family of bell-bells. It
is a perennial herbaceous plant 100-150 cm high with a smooth undisturbed stalk
and jagged leaves. Pearl white flowers are collected in inflorescences on a
high spike-shaped peduncle, which has a pyramidal shape. The length of the
inflorescence is up to 70 cm. It blooms in June-July for 30-35 days. They sow
in the soil in May and October, or in seedlings in March-April. Seedlings are
planted in a permanent place in 30-35 cm. Blooms for the second year. Prefers fertile,
loose, well drained soil, shade-tolerant. Used in group plantings, mixborders,
for cutting. In bouquets it looks very impressive. Cut flowers last 10-12 days
in water.
