DAVID F.T. CROMIE: No details found. 
CHARLES BIGG (1840–1908); Church of England clergyman, theologian and church historian. Born Higher Broughton, near Manchester, educated at Manchester Grammar School and Corpus Christi College, Oxford, where he was a brilliant student, winning the Hertford Prize for Latin, the Ireland Scholarship, and the Gaisford Prize for Greek Prose. He took Holy Orders (Deacon 1863, Priest 1864), but so enjoyed teaching in a school that he became an assistant master at Cheltenham College (1865-71) and Principal of Brighton College. Appointed Regius Professor of Ecclesiastical History at the University of Oxford in 1901, holding the post until his death.

Spotting to prelims. Lightly toned pages with minor spotting to extreme page margins from minor spots to text block edges.
