Perennial honey plant. Stem is upright, 40-120 cm tall.
Seeds are sown in open ground before winter or spring, summer sowing possible when sufficient soil moisture. Young plants develop rather slowly. Blossoms in the second year from June to August. Medicinal raw materials are the biennial rhizome sweet and bitter tastes, which are cleaned and dried in September and October, or early in the spring before the start of regrowth.
Fresh leaves are added to salads, liqueurs, tinctures and essences. For higher crop roots of biennial plants remove flower stalks.
