The
birthplace of titonia is Mexico, it is also called the Mexican sunflower. Stems
reddish, slightly pubescent. The plant, for all its power, does not require a
garter. Inflorescences of large baskets 5-8 cm in diameter, red in color, with
yellow center, resemble non-dahlia dahlias. Blooms from the end of July until
frost. Used in group plantings in mixborders. Excellent grows in pots and other containers.
The plant
is warm and light-loving, responsive to watering. Prefers fertile loose soils.
Seeds are planted on seedlings in late March-April. Seedlings appear after
15-18 days. Seedlings dive into pots. In the open ground planted in early June,
withstanding the distance between plants 30-50 cm.
