Under heavy enemy artillery fire, he removed and defused 113 anti-tank mines and made two passes in the enemy's minefields, which helped the rapid advance of the Red Army tanks.
In the area of ​​the cemetery of St. Thomas, during the street battles for Berlin, he captured 3 German soldiers.
During the assault on government buildings in the Wilhelmstrasse area, together with his unit, he blew up 8 walls of buildings, which helped the infantry quickly occupy the quarter.
Was awarded the "Medal of Honor".
