Rare early 19th century Military Infantry colored lithography of 2 French soldiers after Horace De Viel-Castel original engraving. This lithography made on special wove paper & published by Parisian publisher & lithographer Francois Le Villain (active 1818 - 1852). The lithography is numbered 97 in upper right corner and titled on right, left & middle lower part. When lithography been examined under the glass, 2 letters N.M in circle was found on the back (please refer to pictures). Lithography print made after an original engraving by Horace De Viel-Castel (1802 – 1864) who was a lithographer, critic & an art collector. He worked as the Louvre Museum curator and later, as the Louvre director until 1863. Original lithographs like these kept at National Museum of London and in Louvre, Paris.
