FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION/ FRENCH FORCES BRONZE MEDAL FOR THE ORIENT. THIS WAS FOR THE ALLIES WHO WERE ATTEMPTING TO AID SERBIA AGAINST GERMANY, AUSTRIA-HUNGARY AND BULGARIA IN 1915.
The Greek, French and British troops under the command of the French General Fr. D'Esperay, after the unsuccesfull Darnanelles' campaign, managed, in 1918, to brake the Eastern front and forced the Austrohungarian Empire, Turkey and Bulgaria to sign a peace treaty - a decisive step towards the end of the WW1.
The medal is signed by Georges Lemaire and Paris mint hallmark on the reverse.
