Framed caricature of "Tyrell Smith" by Sallon of the "Daily Mirror"

The text under the picture reads as follows:-

Although he raced several makes of machine in the Isle of Man between 1927 and 1939, TYRELL SMITH'S name will always be associated with Rudge and the sweeping successes enjoyed by that factory when he was teamed with Graham Walker and Ernie Nott; and with Excelsior. Winner of the 1930 "Junior," placed second and third on a number of other occasions, this very popular Irishman is now on the technical staff of
Girlings, a position which keeps him in close touch with the racing game he loves.

This picture is from a set of cartoons commissioned by Shell-Mex and BP Ltd. to mark the 50th anniversary of the Isle of Man TT races in May 1957. It featured motor-cycling personalities both from the past and present at that time. See my other auctions for some of the other pictures.

Historical picture framed in a 25 x 20 cm. (10 x 8 inch) size frame.

The picture offered does NOT have the "SAMPLE" watermark!!
