Scrap DIe Cuts are the embossed, die cut lithographed "stickers" from the early 1900's that the Victorians would paste into scrap books.  Hence, they were called "scrap".  This beautiful candy container comes under the heading of "how do these things survive"!  It is hard to tell by photos if something is an original or a reproduction.  Once you hold it in your hands, you will see the difference between this one and one that is new but has had "aging" done to it.  The age that a thing gets over time is just that.  It's not uniform, and wear isn't even, either.  If it looks to good to be true, it probably is.  I see all kinds of candy containers and ornaments made in the antique fashion, and then "aged".  They just aren't the same.  This one won't disappoint.  Also, while on the subject, beware of some of the new ornaments being sold as antique. There are a lot of the mercury glass reproduction ornaments out there!
