Maun Olive Cutter Plier Type Tool 8, 10, 15 & 22 mm

Compression fittings are used in domestic plumbing for fitting radiators, valves and other plumbing fixtures. Inside the fitting, around the copper tube, sits a compression olive, ring or ferrule with tapered sides that forms the seal. When a compression fitting needs to be removed, so too does the olive.

This tool comprises two precision-set steel cutting edges for accurate cutting of brass or copper olives from copper pipes. The pipe is threaded through the hole in the tool, and the olive centred. The handles are squeezed closed to force the blades up, cutting the olive free from the pipe.

The key features of this tool are its high-leverage design, top-quality steel cutting edges and smooth action with a return spring so the tool is self-opening. Maun has manufactured this original design since 1998. Its compound-lever action multiplies the hand force applied by 15 times at the cutting edge. The result is an accurate and effortless cutting of compression olives time and again - so no need to resort to a hacksaw or olive puller. The cutting edges are precision machined from high-quality steel, hardened, and tempered to HRC 45 for durability. The handles are zinc-plated for durability and have soft plastic grips for added comfort.

Squeeze the handles firmly together until you hear the olive “pop”.
Open the handles and reposition the tool away from the pipe.
Remove the split olive, leaving the pipe unmarked.
