This antique chafing dish / fondue set is impossible to describe or depict in photos.

Recently appraised by 2 different antique dealers to be valued between $1000-$1200, and dating back to 1890-1910

One stated that the sterno / pan holder is made of cast iron, other said it could be brass. Not sure, but based on time period and the fact that the base is very heavy, I believe it to be cast iron. Was also told that the stand is hand poured and assembled in 2 pieces.

This piece belonged to my great grandfather, who owned a variety store in upstate NY and had this dish on display for folks to see and custom-order. When he passed in 1940, all valuable items were packed and stored ever since. This is one of those pieces.

This set is in timeworn aged condition with some tarnish as expected, but was never actually used, as you can clearly see by the bottom of the pan.

It is in original, uncleaned condition. Everything is near perfect, with 1 tiny dent on the tip of the lid as seen in photos.

exterior surfaces are scratch-free
