A  really lovely piece of

British Trench Art

from the

Great War's Trenches of Flanders

in the shape of a hand-made

Fluted & Crimped 'Flower Vase'

fashioned from an Imperial German 80mm brass casing...

Beautifully crafted from a clearly stamped

August 1918 80mm Casing

the front carries the name of

YSER

The battle of Yser took place

in October 1914 along the stretch of the

River Yser and the Yperlee Canal

and featured

British, French & Belgian Forces against

those of the Kaiser's Army.

Successfully managing to hold the last quarter of Belgian land,

some 20,000 Belgian casualties were suffered during the battle

Measuring some 9" high & 3.5" across the base, this

is a really cracking looking Belgian or British souvenir of

The Great War 1914-1918

 Thanks for looking..!
