BEST FOR: Our Wacky Tacky mustache wax is the darkest of our waxes and blends well with brown to black hair. Goes on lighter than it looks in the tin & can be lighter/darker than shown due to natural variances in the waxes used.
HOW TO USE. Make sure wax, fingers & facial hair are dry before application. Warm the wax up in the tin, or by rubbing between fingers. Apply using your index finger and/or with thumb for greater control. See Product Description for more details.

Product Description

Our waxes contain no nuts, corn, gluten, coconut, dairy, almond, soy, lanolin or resin (fir, pine, cedar etc.).

They do contain beeswax but no other animal byproducts. They do contain a small amount of petroleum product. Without it, you would not be able to get the wax out of the tin. There are no dyes or fragrances in our waxes. Both color and scent come naturally from the waxes used.

This wax is suitable for a wide variety of moustache, beard and goatee styles.

OUR STORY

John is a fireman and a farrier by trade, and has sported a moustache since 1987. When his 2 favorite moustache waxes stopped selling in the market, he just couldn't find anything comparable that worked – one that could withstand not only the rigors of his jobs, but also Mississippi’s heat, humidity and wind, as well as the damp and cold. That’s when he decided to experiment in making his own moustache and beard wax.

At the fire station, everyone would get in on the fun as he tossed around ideas and experimented with the guys there. Thus the name for the moustache wax was born.

After many trial and error batches, he came up with a wax that has an incredible hold, is easy to apply and will not run. Each small batch of mustache/beard wax is personally handmade, hand poured and tested by John. We hope you’ll enjoy it!

HOW TO APPLY

Make sure wax is warm and dry before application. You may put it over a warm vent/on top of the coffee pot, run the (closed) tin under hot water, or use a hairdryer. If water gets in the tin just shake it out or blot with a towel. Your fingers and facial hair also need to be dry, or the wax won’t go on smoothly.

Others like using the following to work the wax thru the 'stache after applying: toothbrush, boar's hair brush, or moustache comb.

PUSH (not scrape) wax up on the fingernail of your index finger, wipe it onto your thumb of the same hand, and then rub it back and forth 2-3 times. Some customers prefer using different objects to push up the wax before putting on fingers. Apply using your index finger and/or with thumb for greater control. If you warm the wax up in the tin, no need to rub the wax back and forth between your fingers, otherwise it will actually create the opposite effect of cooling off the wax and might crumble/ball and not go on smoothly.

Make sure there is no conditioner/oil in your facial hair before you apply!
