iBasso AMP5MOD Module

AMP5MOD is a replacement amplifier module for the iBasso DX240, which is a refreshed version of the iconic AMP5 module (compatible with, among others, the discontinued DX200 and DX220). This solution not only matches the design of the company's new audio player, but has also been improved, which guarantees even higher sound quality.

iBasso AMP5MOD is a module with a 3.5 mm (single ended) headphone output and a 3.5 mm (single ended) line output. It features both high voltage and high current output, making it perfect for driving demanding 3.5mm headphones.

The AMP5MOD has a high voltage range (-8V to +8V) which improves dynamics and guarantees a larger soundstage. The topology of the amplifying circuit made it possible to achieve a very clean sound with fast transients. The special buffer architecture reduces power consumption, thanks to which the DX240 can play music for up to 9-10 hours. (depends on volume, headphones used and file type).

AMP5mod is another flavor that emphasizes dynamic vocals. Many tonic capacitors create an open and close sound field for AMP5mod. However, unlike AMP8, which emphasizes the overall momentum, AMP5mod highlights the dynamic fullness of vocals and no longer emphasizes background sounds. Line sense, edge sense, and highlight the more distinct vocal sweetness of the main body. She is not the kind of ear-licking and quiet vocal, but a solo vocal under the spotlight in the center of a slightly larger stage. The overtone and texture with feedback depth interweave a vivid and fleshy picture in front of you. Imagine the late-night Pub, the feeling of red wine jazz.

It uses these new caps:

  • Vishay 1837 film capacitors
  • Siemens EPCOS film capacitors
  • Sprague bipolar capacitors
  • Nichicon MUSE bipolar capacitors
