Q:
I tested this device against a few different PoE switches. ( unifi,
Aruba , and TP-link ) I could never get the device to show any PoE
information.
A: When riiai
poe tester test POE device, it directly tests POE voltages and
classifies them. According to POE specifications, they are displayed as
12V, 24V, 48V levels and the polarity of the power supply line number.
If the poe device needs to communicate first before powered by voltage,
the tester cannot test the results of the POE output .
Q: It was not able to flash the link light at the switch port. It also was not able to tone through and active connection.
A:POE test and POE flashing are two different function interfaces. Pls select the correct function function interfaces.
Q: How long is the cable/tail it comes with?
A: About 6 inches. This cable is use for leading the signal to the tested line. So it’s not long.
Q: is it pin 4 & 5 (blue pair) ?
A: pins 3 & 4 (which is some weird mix of the blue pair and
orange/green pair, depending on the wire standard you use). Although
that works fine for the garbage tail cable it ships with
Q:
Why the toning/tracing wand's volume knob only works when doing analog
tone location - using the digital tone location, it's always at its
highest volume (yay)?
A: When
trace the analog cable, the knob is used for adjusting the volume. And
adjust the sensitivity when trace digital cable. The characteristic of
tracing digital cable is sending out a prompt tone without noise, so it
cannot adjust the sensitivity and volume simultaneously.
