Pre-Pro Advertising Newmans College Beer Mug.

The mug stands 6 1/2" in height.  On one side of the handle is portrayal of "California" (Cal) sporting events.  The other side has a portrayal of Stanford, with similar but different sporting scenes.  On the side opposite the handle is the scene of a St, Bernard, a kitty and a bucket of beer.

A great pre-pro piece with alot going for it. No cracks or chips.  Please view images for greater detail.

Newman's College Inns were the early fore-runner to the "sports bar" of the 21st century.  Started by Charles and Layo Newman in 1906, it operated as Newman's College Inn and Newman's College a liquor concern between about 1906 and 1919 in Oakland and San Francisco, CA. The college apparently closed with the beginning of prohibition.
