WWII USAAF PDI
- Pilot's Directional Indicator -

The all-important Pilot's Directional Indicator could be found in nearly every type of USAAF Bomber during WWII
The PDI is the only gauge in the plane that could actually be called a 'bomber instrument' since it was used for visual communication between the pilot and bombardier once the latter took control of plane's horizontal movement during the Bomb Run.
Refer to any flying episode of 12 O'CLOCK HIGH to hear the pilot say, "Bombardier, center the PDI", followed by "PDI centered, sir"...

No rusty, wire-brushed or otherwise repaired junk - merely lightly cleaned.
NOTE: Cannon plugs will sometimes have WWII-applied grease residue. This was used to prevent aluminum-to-aluminum galling and is perfectly normal.

THE PDI SHOWN IS THE ONE YOU'LL RECEIVE.

BONUS: 4 original brass instrument screws & 4 brass Stop Nuts (Kingman takeouts in excellent condition) to aid in mounting your PDI.

Real nice condition - shows the expected slight wear from use & storage a great souvenir from one of the Kingman Bombers!

As with all DEPOT 41 Instruments, this Pilot's Directional Indicator is offered as a fine used collectible.

TESTED - DOES NOT CONTAIN RADIUM
