This little bracelet was hand made, from small brass alloy religious medals from the 1930's.  It has been cleaned at some point, as it is a bit shiny.  That always makes me sad, as this destroys the "patina" which is the aged look things get over time.  The little piece is made from a brass alloy, based on the "smell" and the "magnet" test.  It doesn't stick to a magnet, so it isn't a base metal.  When the metal is rubbed against something and then "smelled" - it has a metal smell; gold won't, but brass alloy will.  Each little medal was stamped into a bas relief shape of a rose, with the actual medal showing on the inside. I tried to show the inside of each little medal, but the pictures didn't come out terribly well, as the stamping caused the images to slightly blur. Whoever made it was very creative.  It has no breaks or damage, and the hook closure is just a simple one that works just fine.  It is small, just 6", so will fit a child or a doll.  (or both).  It makes a really wonderful first communion gift.  I have a lovely little book in another listing that this would go really well with.  I am dating this piece in the 1930's, based on the medals style, and the clasp.
