Rather
scarce brief letter by the Hungarian-French composer and pianist, Paris,
January 6, 1948. He sends the letter in response to an autograph request.
Harsányi, a Kodály protégé was a prolific mainly miniaturist, a founder of the
Group des Quatre and member of the Ècole de Paris, two of the important émigré
groups for mainly exiled composers living in Paris. His most famous work, “l’Histoire du Petit
Tailleur” for orchestra and narrator is superb!
