Collectible and highly sought-after Jens Harald Quistgaard set of 5 Dansk teak pepper miil / salt shaker from the 1970's. Each piece is handcrafted of beautifully grained Beechwood with a natural finish. The top of each peppermill has removable plug / pegs and serves as salt shaker except the smallest one. The bottom of each pepeprmill comes with good quality reliable metal grinding mechanism and black plastic rotating disk to insert peppercorns. The grinders were made in Thailand. Three rotating black plastic disks are marked: " Dansk International Designs LTD / JHQ  Thailand ". Four original clear labels are intact and each reads: " Dansk International Desins LTD / JHQ Thailand ". The last rotating disk is marked: " Lenox". The tallest peppermill model # 879 (with ball shape salt stopper) is 9 in. (23 cm) H; the second peppermill model # 832 is 8 1/2 in. (21.5 cm) H; the third peppermill model # 833 (with a single peg) is 8 in. (20.3 cm) H; mill model # 890 (with large button salt stopper )is 7 1/2 in. (19 cm) H; the shortest mill model # 835 (with a single peg) is 4 3/4 in. (12 cm) H.

The set is in very good original condition. The wooden grain shows well and original patina has been preserved and remains unaltered. Some wood wear (shallow scuffing, minor nicks and "flea bites") is present and must be accepted. The tallest peppermill has some faint greenish nicks and you need a magnifier to see it. Nothing major but we have to mention it for the accuracy of the description. All grinders have been test and they are working great.
