studied at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Vienna, and then with Jean-Paul Laurens in Paris.
He made several trips to Egypt between 1880 and 1904. He painted architectural subjects, as well as Oriental objects and clothing, in rich, harmonised colours and with great precision
