This hat is so clean, as if it were never worn. It is a Derby Style hat, but someone told me that it is probably a Homberg. I added the feathers.It is a very dark black color. I had to lighten the pictures to show the hatband.
The cap measured about 5" tall. The brim 2 1/2" wide and curls upward; the edge is hemmed.
The lining is white in color, made of a satin material. At the top is a Cavanagh Hat Logo with the Shield and the 2 lions facing each other. Stating...A POSSE AD ESSE. and CAVANAGH HATS NEW YORK.
On the left side of the sweatband in gold lettering it states... HIGGINS, FRANK & HILL CHICAGO..
There is a small tag with the number 7 1/4 on it, I assume that is the size..
I measured the inside and came up with 22 5/8" - 58CM -- Size Large-- 7 1/4
I don't know if this hat is Vintage or not since it looks Brand New to me.
