You are purchasing a very rare 1943 La Ambrosia Cuban Amateur Baseball card.

Angel Rodriguez Card -

The set that this card comes from is the 1943 La Ambrosia Cuban Amateur Baseball league set and is said to be the largest of all the vintage Cuban sets with 242 known cards.  The set has twenty (20) different teams represented, with twelve (12) player cards per team. However (2) two teams apparently had a 13th card.  

The cards in the set are NOT numbered and as such I am not sure that a complete list of all players for each team exists as I have not located one in my research.  The card backs feature the players name, club and position. 

The cards from the set were printed on very thin paper with the cards usually ending up pasted into a set album also issued by La Ambrosia and it could apparently be had for the redemption of fifty (50) cards.  The cards are in colour and approximately 2" by 2-3/4" printed on very thin paper.  The set includes players who were major leaguers and played in the US Negro Leagues and in many cases may be the only card ever issued for a specific player.  

Early Cuban issued baseball cards are hard to find in any condition!  They are rare but can be found occasionally, with their scarcity far greater than most cards from sets issued in North America.  

This card appears to be in acceptable to good condition.  I have tried to show condition in the pictures, but I do not pretend to be a card grader!  :)  This card may contain creasing, pen marks, staining, tears, pin marks, holes, rounded corners or other imperfections so view the ad pictures and judge the card condition for yourself!!                                              - Pictures show card front and back.
