This item was purchased in Italy at a moving street market. Every day they were in a different location near the Hotel where I was staying. Looking into the candle holder, it appears there is still wax. This item has not been cleaned. It appears to be able to be improved and shined up, but I leave that decision to you.

If you zoom in on the candle holder pictures, you can see slight white on the tips of some of the pedals.

The Maker's mark is on the bottom of the candle holder.

The age of this item is from the late 1970's, possible 1979 when this style originated and came out on the market.

 If you are flying into Italy chances are you will be coming through DaVinci airport in Rome. This is not an airport that you can just show up and rush through the line. This is an intense experience that will try your patience unless you are prepared.

 First, make sure you carry your flight itinerary or you will not be able to get to the kiosks to print out your tickets. Bring information confirming your business or you will not get in the door. Then, make sure you fill out all the information when you scan your pass port. Make sure you pick the right language, English, for example. Do not try to answer all the check in questions in Italian unless you are fluent.

 Remember, once you get through all the check systems, you work your way to a shuttle that will bus you to the right terminal. Make sure you are on the right track and find the right terminal. Also, do not run tight in reference to your schedule. Give yourself plenty of time because getting through this airport will take you plenty of time.

 Finally, relax. Take the time to find the layout of this airport and don’t hesitate to ask questions to keep you on track. For the most part, once you get the swing of this airport, it can be very efficient. The biggest strain is not giving yourself enough time to get through all the check points. It is much easier waiting for the flight at your terminal than straining to get there on time because you pinched your own schedule.

Oh my, Italy will drive you up a wall picking what to bring home. There are so many things to buy and so much fun stuff waiting for you to take home. What it comes down to is how much weight you packed for your trip and how much the total weight of the souvenirs weights when you check into the air lines.

Light weight items like book marks and post cards are easy to pack. Things like ceramics can be heavy and breakable unless you plan correctly. There are a lot of street corners with small vendors and mini swap meet nooks just waiting for you to stumble upon. Often times, these spots provide a wealth of amazing souvenirs and collectibles.

 When it comes down to it, remember there is no harm in mailing yourself home some nice souvenirs. You most likely will arrive home before your package arrives, but it is worth it. Considering the airlines will charge you hundreds of dollars, it’s not a bad deal.
