For sale is this commemorative sterling silver spoon celebrating the Louisiana Purchase of 1803. A number of similar spoons were made to celebrate the Louisiana Purchase, and this one captures the Administration Building in St. Louis, Missouri, on its bowl, with a wagon train on the handle and the years 1803 - 1903 flanking either side of the handle. The back of the spoon is marked Louisiana Purchase Exposition Sterling 1904 Copyright 1892 By Bert Hall.

The spoon measures 5.25 inches long and is heavily tarnished.

This came from the 1972 estate of my late great aunt, who owned an antique shop in Avilla, Indiana.
