Antique Chinese Old Jade Carved Seal Stamp; Up for sale is this very old jade seal stamp with carved themes on all sides, dated possibly Song Dynasty (960-1279) or later. The seal stamp features a big block carved with ancient Chinese Seal scripts, the totems of dragon in different directions one of which is with five claws, and an official with a headwear. The Seal scripts translated into today’s Chinese characters are “北宋, “太平興國”,汴京匠雕 and “同姓諸王子”.

In Chinese history, 北宋 (Northern Song Dynasty, 960-1127) was an era during the Song Dynasty. 汴京 (Bianjing), known today as Kaifeng in Henan Province, was the Capital city of Northern Song Dynasty. 太平興國 (Taiping Xingguo, 976-984) was an Era of Emperor Taizong of Song (reigning period, 976-997), the second Emperor of the Song Dynasty. The headwear shows the characteristic of Song Dynasty’s official hat with two wing-like flaps, stiff and straight.
