Description:

The item up for bids is a fabulous antique restaurant ware plate from the Bass Rocks Beach Club in Gloucester, Massachusetts. It features a beautiful cobalt blue top mark with an image of the Twin Lights lighthouses on Thatcher Island as seen from Good Harbor Beach. The image is framed with the words Bass Rocks Beach Club above and crossed laurel leaves below. The rim is accented with a triple band border of matching cobalt blue. The plate was made by the Bailey-Walker China Company and retailed by the restaurant supply company Macdonald & Gehm, Inc., of New York City. It is a substantial weight vitreous china plate designed to withstand the rigors of a commercial restaurant setting, very good quality. This plate is a great piece of Gloucester history and would be the perfect addition to any Cape Ann beach collection, have some fun and bid!
