This little puppy has a wonderful, side glancing expression!  He is hand made, and hand painted.  He dates to the 1930's, and is done in the Art Deco style of the time.  He was probably a workshop or tramp art piece.  He is made from inexpensive wood that has darkened with age.  His head will tilt but has loosened a bit with age, so there is a piece of paper behind his head that has been put in place to help his head stay in the way you pose it.  It is a nice size - just 7 1/4" tall, and 6 1/4" wide.  It is a darling piece, that is great for display.  Folk art pieces are so charming - they are one of a kind, from an era when gift giving was usually done with things that were made by the giver.

You won't be disappointed with this fellow.
