Hello and welcome!
You are looking at a real vintage wedding gown. I have painstakingly cleaned and restored this dress to the best of my ability. It is from the 40s or 50s, most likely handmade. The dress is a lovely cream color in liquid satin, the fabric is strong with no stretch. The skirt was just made for twirling. The fitted bodice has princess seams and a netting inset above faux pearls, which are hand-sewn by me. The long fitted sleeves close with 5 buttons at the wrists. The back of the dress is closed by a metal zipper and two sets of hook and eyes. The dress comes with a net and feather flower pin. The necklace is not included.
Here are the dress measurements(taken flat):
Shoulder to shoulder is 16 inches across
Bust is 15 inches across
Pit to pit is 16 inches across
Waist is 12 inches across
Hips are 20 inches across
Length from shoulder to hem is 51 inches.
Neck is 12 inches around
Sleeves are 23 ½ inches long
Zipper is 18 ½ inches
For reference, the dress form’s measurements are: 35, 27, 36, as as shown in the photos, I had to pin the dress. The waist and bust are just a bit too small for it.
The dress is very goo condition. It was a little sorry when I got it, and I have washed it and restored it the best that I can. I replaced the buttons, hook and eyes, beads on the bodice, sewed down the netting and loose places. The fabric is strong and should not rip. There is one noticeable repair I had to do on the bodice front, as seen in photo number 7. This shouldn’t rip anymore, but the seam was loose. This is not too noticeable except close-up.
This gown comes from a smoke free and cat friendly home.
