Rare autographed 9.25" x 12.5" broadside for a concert by the Czech violinist in Nachod in the nothern part of the Czech Repbulic near the Polish border.  The concert was on November 10, 1941 and as it was customary during the German occupation in both German and Czech.  She performs works by, Kubelik, Dvorak, Tartini, Paganini, Mozart Tchaikovsky and Smetana.  She signs at the bottom of her photograph.

Seidlova (1914-1995) studied at the Prague Conservatory with violinist and moreover, composer, Jindirich Feld from 1928-1935.  In 1934 while still a student she starred as the fictional violinist Milada Bendlova a pupil of Otakar Sevcik and in love with a painter portrayed by the great Czech actor, Otto Rubik in the film, “Hudba Srdci” or “Music of the Heart”.  She is best remembered today for this film, as it has become a Czech cult classic.  Seidlova toured extensively throughout Europe, including Portugal, Spain, Demark, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.  Unlike many of her contemporaries, while she did perform works by the Czech greats, she focused on the composers and virtuoso violinists who composed, Tartini, Paganini, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, and Beethoven among the many, her repertoire was apparently expansive.  Czech composers included the Romantics, Smetana, Slavik and Dvorak.  She also played the works of Jan Kubelik and Franz Ondricek.  From 1954 on she taught in Prague.  Her daughter is soprano, Eva Saurova.

Another unusual program from the BATA Shoe Company Symphony Orchestra.
