The book of the Ukrainian writer and journalist Oleksandr Vashchenko (1909-1974, literary pseudonym A. Vysochenko). Despite the difficulties (imprisonment during the Second World War, and emigration (first DP camps in Germany, then moving to Brazil), the writer remained loyal to the interests of Ukraine. He edited the nationalist newspaper "Hliborob" and was a frequent correspondent of "Svoboda" newspaper.

The book answers the main question: "Why did the author escape from the Soviet Union?"
