I need folders to organize product manuals/instructions like for the refrigerator. Would these work for several manuals?

yes! They have lasted with students taking back and forth each day for almost an entire school year and can hold a good bit of materials!

Are these folders strong enough to hold a notebook?

I use the envelopes to hold a 100 page spiral note book or a black and white composition book. They are not large like a briefcase.

They are translucent, you can see what's contained in the pocket easily.

Are these poly envelopes easy to carry?

Yes, they're light and the size is just perfect for me.

How thick is the plastic (mm)?

I don't know mm, but it is very thin, about the thickness of 3 pieces of paper. It's sturdy, though.
