Here you see for sale a pair of connectors. A row of 15 square header pins with one pin removed, spaced at 0.156 inches apart. And a socket that mates with this row of header pins, including a plastic peg that plugs one hole, so it will line up properly with the missing pin on the header.

So what! you say?

This pair of parts fits the "Aux Receiver" circuit board found in the Tram D201 and D201A CB radio base stations. The factory  manual calls this the "AA" board.

It is famous for causing intermittent receive signals, cracking and snapping noises in the receiver audio when jostled the least little bit.

The root cause of this is the round header pins used by the factory. They are installed on the main receiver circuit board. The socket on the AA board that slides over them can also exhibit wear and become noisy as well. But the round-shape pins are the primary culprit.

The pressure exerted onto the shiny plated surface of the  cylindrical-shaped pins by the circuit board socket's spring contacts will wear away the shiny plated surface, exposing the base metal under it. That surface becomes oxidized within days of being cleaned, and will *never* fully quiet down from cleaning alone. Once this circuit board has been unplugged and put back the first few times the wear on that surface takes its toll. Never mind the geometry-class lesson about a flat surface tangent against the face of a cylindrical shape. Just take my word for it. The round pins wear prematurely.

Dern!

The procedure to install the square pins is NOT a simple one. You will find that the square pins are just a bit larger than the original ones. Removing the old round pins without damaging the foil traces on the main circuit board is likewise not that simple unless you have already developed that skill. The new square pins will push through the holes, but beware causing the foil pads to lift from the circuit-board laminate.

Long story short, if you don't have the skills to do this without damaging the radio, hire someone who does.

The flat contact surface of a square pin will spread the contact pressure over a larger area and last much longer than the cylindrical factory header pins.

The D201 radios are famous for the many different internal locations where this kind of noise gets generated. These two parts will fix ONLY this particular one of them. It won't fix noisy tube sockets, a worn relay, oxidized pins on the other plug-in circuit boards, noisy controls or oxidized rotary-switch contacts.

Fair warning on this model. There's almost never "JUST ONE" thing causing funny noises in a D201.

Yeah, the price seems a bit high. Feel free to order the same items from Mouser, Newark, Allied or other industrial suppliers. Shipping with a tracking number adds five bucks to the cost all by itself. And I won't ship any Ebay item without tracking. Just won't.

After all, what you're buying here is mostly a service. The parts themselves are only the smallest part of the bottom line. Feel free to shop around.

And one more detail. We stopped selling this item last year when my supply ran low. Ordered more. Got back ordered. That was April 2022. Here it is February 2023 and the back-ordered sockets have just now arrived. Go figure.

There are NO RETURNS AT ALL FOR ANY REASON OF ANY KIND!
No matter how good they sound.

We ship no later than the second business day following receipt of cleared payment. I prefer USPS. It's been VERY reliable and comes with tracking. I will insure it for the final sale price.

IF YOU PREFER A DIFFERENT **USA ONLY** SHIPPING METHOD, CONTACT ME **BEFORE** YOU PAY! I will prepare a quote for the method you specify and send you an invoice for the corrected amount. This option is available to USA destinations ONLY!

How much that will cost you is anybody's guess. Ask Ebay if you want to know. Maybe they'll tell you. They won't tell me.  Maybe they should rename the "GSP" the "Global Secret Program".

GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!!

No, I will NOT ship direct if you are outside the USA and its colonies.

GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!! GSP ONLY!!

If you know what it is and what it's for, you can decide if you want or need it.

And if you don't know what it is, you probably don't need it.

Trust me on this.

All routine Ebay precautions apply. Scammers take your nonsense elsewhere.

Please.
