Description: [First World War] INSCRIBED THIRD EDITION. Octavo (22 x 18cm), pp.xliv; 596. With 33 black and white illustrations including a frontispiece. INSCRIBED by the Colonel of the Regiment between 1912 and 1921, and author of the foreword, H.A.R. May (1863-1930), in black ink to the fly-leaf: 'To the 16th (County of London) & the London Regiment | Queen's Westminster Civil Service Rifles | This copy of our Roll of Honour and War | record is sent in memory of the 58 young | officers mentioned on days 299 to 301 who went | from the artists rifles, 28 to the Civil Service Rifles | & 30 to the Queen's Westminster, in a great emergency | 1914-1918. | with every good wish | from | H.A.R. May | Colonel artists rifles 1912-1921.' Publisher's grey cloth with black and silver titles to spine and upper, and a silver regimental device stamped to upper. Toned with a few marks to edges and endpapers, otherwise internally clean. A repaired partial split to upper joint, otherwise fairly light general wear to cloth. Very good.
