Grand Vintage 1997 from Glenmorangie is the seventh release in the Bond House No 1 Collection.
Bond House No 1 is an annual release made from some of Glenmorangie’s most important vintages. It is designed to celebrate the largest of the distillery’s 19^th century warehouses, Warehouse No 1.
It has been matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks before spending the next 13 years in ex-red wine barrels from Château Montrose. Distilled in 1997 and bottled in 2021.

    Nose:    Astonishing, perfumed and fruity complexity. Floral notes of rose, jasmine and carnation intermingle with soft red fruits, mint toffee, pastry or cake mix and a sweet confectionery top note. With water, even more soft, floral top notes like roses and carnations emerge, with a very subtle spiciness like sweet chilli, clove and ginger.

    Taste:    A slightly tingly, gently spicy mouthfeel is followed by a symphony of sweet candy flavours, more soft red fruits, pineapple chunks and a taste reminiscent of pears and mandarin segments in fruit jelly. There are sweet ginger and chilli notes, gentle almond marzipan and vanilla toffee apple.

    Finish:   Sweet, rich, long and gently spicy.
