This handbook supersedes the Stokers Manual and is to be  fgrissued free of charge to each direct entry engine-room artificer,  figengine-room artificer apprentice and stoker on joining.  ,4  V‘ 2. Ratings undergoing courses, who have not already received  Y a copy of the Machinery Handbook, are to be issued with a copy  i free of charge.  3. Only one copy of this handbook will be issued free of charge  to the above-mentioned ratings. Issues to replace copies lost are  to be made on repayment.  4. In order that a copy of this handbook may be issued on  temporary loan to men who are preparing to take an examination  for advancement to a higher rating, a number of copies, equal to  ten per cent. of the engine-room complement, will be supplied to  each of H.M. Ships on demand.

CONDITION;  GOOD WITH SOME WEAR

INTERIOR CLEAN AND UNMARKED

CONDITION REFERENCE

MINT - As New (including Dustwrapper )

FINE - Nearly as new but showing slight signs of

having been read.

VERY GOOD - Sound, firm and clean but with minor

marking/tearing of dustwrapper (if present)

or slight wear/fading of cover.

GOOD - Sound and firm but covers marked or faded

and contents may show signs of use.

FAIR - General wear and marking with possible

weakness of inner hinges.  Only a good 'reading' copy.

POOR - Generally marked and shaken - a last resort when no better copy is likely to become available.
