Our Upright Bass Natural Gut Strings are a high quality hand-made gut double bass string with a classic tone and stability that is sure to last. These double bass strings are handmade by Expert craftsman using only serosa (sheep intestine). Sheep serosa gives a lower tension, softer feel, and warm rich tones within the string. It is far too delicate to process by machine, and even the twisting of the strands into a string is done by hand—it’s the only way to properly judge the tension of the string.

When fully stretched and played-in , these strings present a uniquely warm sound combined with a softer & more flexible feel than steel strings , providing a truly heritage tone for period and early music specialists , authentic pizzicato for jazz players and rockstar friends. With natural gut strings the music is always good

These Gut Strings Should be oiled periodically to avoid drying. We recommend a high quality olive oil or Silicon oil.
