Up for sale here is this complete recap kit for the Matsushita MKL-15 motor.  This motor was used in a LOT of vintage turntables, including the Technics SL-2000, Marantz 6150, Marantz 6300, Kenwood KD 500 and KD 550, Garrard DD75, JBE Series 3, and some Mitsubishi and Rotel turntables.  The MKL-15 will usually have some letters after it, so it may be an MKL-15SIT, an MKL-15B3, an MKL15B4, etc.  This kit will probably work for any MKL-15 motor.  This will take care of most of the circuit-board-related issues you will see with these turntables, except if you have a bad AN620 chip.

One major problem with these motors is that the AN620 IC chip can go bad, which will result in speed issues as well. Luckily you can find the AN620 on eBay for around $25 plus shipping. Leaky capacitors can damage this chip, so even if your turntable is working, you should still recap it.

This kit includes replacements for all 7 electrolytic and tantalum capacitors on the motor boards. These are extremely high-quality parts, the same ones I use when I work on vintage stereo gear. Capacitors are Supertech axial electrolytic caps, one Wima film cap, and one radial Nichicon KL cap.

I will include surprisingly well-written instructions, but this is moderately complicated, and you should know what you're doing and have a decent soldering iron.  The motor board is HARD to access on these.

Please see my pictures for details.
